Sandra, Russell and Brian 
Sandra and Russell embarked on their life long dream of caring for animals and took over Tharfield Kennels in 2011 along with Russell's dad, Brian. Russell is a qualified electrician and is your go-to-man for anything that needs fixing. He likes being outdoors and works really hard with the garden and paddocks keeping them looking nice. He has owned dogs since he was 10 years old so has plenty of experience in caring for them. Russell is a fully qualified Canine and Feline First Aider. Russell's interests outside of the kennels include; listening to music, making music and walking. Sandra worked in admin prior to buying the kennels and has a background in customer care and quality assurance. She has had cats all her life and she works wonders with cats who are nervous and timid. Sandra holds a BSc Science degree with the Open University and she is a fully qualified Canine and Feline First Aider. Sandra's interests outside of the kennels include; walking, reading and going to charity shops (book shopping).  

Together Sandra and Russell have rescued many dogs and cats over the years. Currently they have Jedi and Jonny who are both Romanian Rescue dogs and Yana a Papillion ex show dog who was no longer wanted they also have Obi a black cat who they inherited when his owner died during his stay with them. 
 There are also ex-battery rescue hens in residence so if you'd like some eggs let us know. 

Brian is the patriarch of the family. He has always had dogs and as much as he doesn't like to admit it he loves them. He is an avid bird watcher and veg and fruit grower as well as being a resourceful handy-man.

Tharfield is very lucky to have a team of young people who help out during the week. Each member is dedicated to the care of your pet so be sure to say hi when you see them.
