Vaccinations
All dogs must be fully inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza and must have received a booster injection within the previous 12 months. We are now accepting Titre Testing as proof of immunisation, however, we will need to see a copy of the vet's report. If your dog has only been Titre Tested we cannot take any responsibility should they become unwell as a result of not having yearly vaccinations.
Cats must be fully inoculated against Feline leukaemia, Feline infectious enteritis, Feline viral rhinotracheitis (Feline Herpes Virus), Feline calicivirus and must have received a booster injection within the previous 12 months.
We do not insist that dogs are inoculated against Canine Infectious Bronchitis (Kennel Cough). We cannot be held responsible if a dog contracts Kennel Cough as this is an airborne virus and can be contracted anywhere where there are a lot of dogs e.g. local park. If you decide to have your dog inoculated against Kennel Cough it must be done 2 weeks prior to coming into the kennels. If your dog has been inoculated against Kennel Cough within these two weeks we withhold the right to refuse entry as this could potentially affect other dogs staying on the premises.
Upon arrival we will need to see proof of vaccination. This can come in the form of a vaccination record card or a receipt from the vet. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure their pet is up-to-date with parasitic prevention. We cannot be held responsible if a pet contracts fleas or worms. If a pet brings fleas onto the premises the owner will be liable to pay for decontamination of premises and pets (as required).
Circumstances when we might refuse admission
We reserve the right to refuse admission to animals we deem too sick to board or animals we deem too aggressive and a risk to our own health and safety.
Circumstances when animals will share a space
At the owner’s discretion dogs from the same household can share a kennel and at the owner’s discretion cats from the same household can share the same unit. We cannot be held liable for any injury caused by one animal to another. If we think it appropriate we withhold the right to separate pets from the same household for their own safety. In this situation the owner will need to pay for two separate kennels/units.
Late arrival and late/early collection
To try and reduce the occurrence of late arrivals we send out confirmation emails with every booking. These emails contain the arrival and departure dates. If a client does not arrive on the dates stated in the confirmation email and does not contact us we reserve the right to cancel the booking and they will be still be liable to pay for the full booking. Upon arrival the client will be asked to confirm the collection date. If the client collects their pet earlier than the agreed date they are liable to pay for the original booking. If a client is unable to collect during our collection hours their pet will either be kept till the following morning (if we have space) with an over night cost , or if we don't have space the owner will have to arrange an out of hours pick up with the additional day board charge added on.
Abandoned animals
In the event of an animal not being collected, the proprietor may find alternative arrangements for the animal concerned after giving 14 days notice to the owner or their representative at their last known address.
What we will do in the case of emergency
In the case of a medical emergency we will take the pet to their own vet if possible. If the pet’s own vet is deemed too far away, we will take the pet to our nominated veterinary surgery (Arun Veterinary Group - Chichester) for immediate treatment where after the animal will be taken to their own vet. Tharfield Pet Boarding Ltd. will pay the veterinary surgery for treatment and upon the client’s return they will be required to refund Tharfield Pet Boarding Ltd.
